Conference Title: The Essential Humanities

Talk Title: After the Devolution: Reinventing the Humanities for the Future University

The Essential Humanities features Professor Christopher Newfield, author of Unmaking the Public University (Harvard University Press, 2008). On Thursday, March 1, at 3:30 pm, he will give a talk entitled "After the Devolution: Reinventing the Humanities for the Future University."

On Friday, he will respond to papers presented by USC graduate students Samuel Solomon (COLT), Nisha Kunte (ASE), Shaoling Ma (COLT), and Matthew Taylor (CLAS). See the schedule for more information. The first two papers will be presented at 10:00 am. The last two papers will be presented at 2:00 pm.
