What Was Faculty Governance? How Can it Be Rebuilt?
Ideas from the US and UK

UTFA is pleased to announce that Professor Chris Newfield, author of "Unmaking the Public University: The Forty Year Assault on the Middle Class" (Harvard UP) will be visiting this fall to speak to us about university governance, drawing on his comparative research in the U.K. and U.S.

Professor Newfield's talk, "What was Faculty Governance? How can it be Rebuilt? Ideas from the U.S. and UK" takes place November 11th at 4:30 pm in Bahen Centre 1190.

Professor Newfield will provide stimulating and provocative perspectives on the challenges facing all of us. The talk is part of our regular monthly UTFA Council meeting, but is open to all UTFA members. That means it's also a good opportunity to meet members of the Executive Committee of UTFA and perhaps your own Council representative. Be sure to join us afterwards in the Faculty Club to continue the conversations.

We warmly welcome you to this special event, and hope to see many familiar and new faces. If you plan to attend, please RSVP at faculty@utfa.org or call 416-978-4976.
